Sounds good. Although what time would it take place?

Probably will choose WoE 2 times (but all week). You'll have plenty of notice (at least a week) to know when your team is up so you can make the time.

Just an idea. would it be more beneficial to limit a maximum of each class? For example you may not have more than 2 of each class.

Clarification on the use of alt slave buffers would also be needed.

And some finer details like, how much time do the defenders have to set up before the attackers are let loose and does the attack team instantly lose if the defenders defend for too long(an hour or 2?)

Time limit of 30 minutes each time. You can't use external buffs. @storage will also be disabled but there will be a Kafra in the staging area. You'll get 60 seconds at the start of each round to prepare. Note that in the first round the castle starts unoccupied (no monsters, though), so it's a race to the emp. Unlike real WoE, the entire event will take place on a single map, so there won't be any loading screens (this isn't about who has the best computer). Once defeated, you'll be warped back to your start position which is on the same map. If the castle is yours you can flag to pre-emp. If it's not, you can walk there. You also can choose to wait for more team members if you want to, or rejoin right away. Teams probably should be using voice chat for optimum communication, but they don't have to.

There's no limit on what classes you can bring, but once you choose what classes you are bringing you can't change it. And because of the buff rules, coming with all offensive classes probably isn't a good idea. Each group may be given a special item which they can use only once per round (3 times per match, if you use it during each round, but you can't save it for another round -- use it or lose it), which functions identically to emergency call but only works for the party they have formed for the tournament (so they don't recall their entire guild).

In the event of a time limit hit in the last 2 rounds, 1 member will be removed from each side (each team chooses a member to remove on the opposing teams side) until they win.

I like the idea, but I want to throw in a few suggestions.

Remove the economy requirement for guilds to register. There's already the zeny fee guilds need to pay in order to join, and by setting an amount of eco a guild must have you're limiting the number of people that are able to join. If it's free that means a bigger tournament and everyone interested will be able to enjoy it.

Second and third rounds have the same concept with a different objective, and basically by winning one it's very likely you'll do the same next round. Maybe you could change the second round, and instead of you having to defend the castle longer than the enemy guild, make it a fight between both guilds in an open map, and the winner guild is the one that kills the entire enemy team.

Assumptio should be disabled inside, both the skill and autocast. Also, since the tournament is taking place on a single map, traps may not disappear once the sniper dies since he won't be leaving the map, same for AoE skills that are cast before a wiz dies(not sure if this is possible to fix).

Hey can we do something like this:

Both teams spawn on a triple inferno style map, just a little larger. After five seconds an orb will be spawned on the map. Whoever picks up the orb will be struck with a modified burning status that's eats away 7.5% of your health per second and has an exagerated effect to make it clear who picked it up, along with all the other detriments. if your team can keep you alive until the the player that picked up the orb dies naturally from burning, the enemy team gets nuked and you win the round. 3-5 rounds per game, small teams.

Why not just make it a modified version of RWC and play it like today's biggest e-sports?

Instead of 5-7 players per team, we have 10.

Before every match, both teams will ban one or two job classes from play. (e.g., if a team vetoes paladins, then both sides cannot use a paladin).

Remove the class restriction for reserves. Players can play whichever class they want as long as it is not banned from the match.

After every round, each player can choose to switch to a different class to adapt to their team's play.

Other than that, classic GvG rules apply. No other objectives, just kill the opposing team.

I realize that games like these end quickly, so maybe you can do a round robin format if enough teams sign up... and then the top teams go to the playoffs.

Also, please have Morph as a commentator. :3

I'll assume with the biggest e-sport games you're talking about LoL or dota2. They have over 100 "job classes" to chose from so banning a few from that pool doesn't hurt the player much.

Many of the different job classes there are all designed the same way (well there are only like 4 skills? No surprise there.) so even if your job class is banned you can still pick a very similar one.

There are only 18 job classes in ro (counting bard & gypsy as the same class) even if just 1 class is banned it'll change the whole game a lot.

Banning a pally would ruin a lot of team setups for some people, banning a creo would mean everyone will be forced to use FCP scrolls. A lot of classes are designed to counter specific other classes too.

Not to forget some people only play 1 class the whole time and don't even have the gears to properly play another class forcing them to leave the team for that match and let someone else play if they even have a replacement.

Will the emperium be like the one in BG Rush or regular WoE?

Edit: just read it'll be FE castles

I actually meant CS:GO where a team usually bans the map where they either play the worst or their opponent the best but I see your point about having to gear up another class.
